Sometimes, change can be good. You would really look forward to it, specifically if it’s for the better. After all, who doesn’t want a better change, right. All for the best……feeling more satisfied……exceeding what you have the day before……and having a better tomorrow than what you are today. Who wouldn’t want that, right?
Me? I like change. I like to to try new things, go see places (if I can afford it), read something new (now that’s lame). It’s just the world has much to offer us. Of course, what we have here is not eternal. But that shouldn’t stop someone and take a moment and gaze upon what this life has to offer.
Wow. Pretty good at making this crap up. Kinda feels like it’s just not me.
Yup. Definitely not me. Owh well, back to reality now.
People have a certain fetish towards something (NOT IN THAT SENSE OF MEANING, YOU PERVERTS!!!!). Let me make it more tactful. Some people at just a sucker at certain things (AGAIN, FOR THOSE PERVERTS, READ ON FIRST, YOU SONS OF A GUN). That other day an office mate of mine just admitted to me that she has a weakness when it comes to handbags. Last Friday she told me that she was down to a few hundreds left till payday. And on Monday, she treated herself to a 2k handbag (which I don’t know what type, cos she didn’t tell me).
My point is, some people, no matter how strong they might be, will have their kryptonite surrounding their circle of power. They may know it, or they might not. But if it’s there, you better watch out, sports fans. My brother too has this huge obsession for body combat. He’s even thinking of getting a trainer’s license for it, which I think is a swell idea. Heck, if you’re gonna do something you like, might as well make some money out of it, huh?
And like most of the 6.7bil people roaming our third Earth (quoting from Thundercats) here, I’m not spared from this disease. Well, it’s better to admit it now than living in a world of denial. Therefore, I’M A HANDPHONOLIC, AND I’M NOT AFRAID TO ADMIT IT. hehehe. Yeah, I just can’t get my hands off the latest in the mobile market. Maybe……I’m not as bad as I think. After all, I’m not making that much money. And as of now, I only have this sickness on an annual basis. But getting an N95 last year, and changing it to a Touch Pro last month can be said to be rather edgy. And the worse news is, I think I’m getting worse. Currently, I browsing around for phones with an 8MP camera. And from what I’ve been through, I might get one in a month or two…….we’ll see. LG Revoir does look kinda nice for now ![]()
But that’s not what I intended to blog here. Today I’m gonna let my frustrations out on one of our mobile service providers. Something I wanna write about last week, but couldn’t because I was writing about my accident. In that matter, I’m doing just great on the recovery process.
Earlier this month, I received 2 sms’es from one of my service providers (yes, I have 2 numbers). One is offering me free SMS when I top up, and another offering a 50% credit when I topup. Both of these offers had sparked an interest in this thin hollow shell I call my brain, in which I comply. So, I topup twice in this month…..something I don’t usually do.
But as shitty as they are, the provider (hell, who do you think I am to make the service provider anonymous) did not fulfill their end of the bargain. So, I made a call to Maxis Call Center (see, told you) and lodged complaint of it. The thing that really bugs me is, they didn’t even acknowledge that the free credit offer exists, saying that they don’t have record of that type of offer.
For starters, I had to topup twice in order to get the promotion given (which is fine since I know what I getting into). But not only did I have to curse around to get what’s tightfully mine, but I have to pay in order to get it. I don’t know about Celcom, but I think it sucks that Maxis is charging their prepaid customers to pay in order to get to their support service. I mean, Digi can give it for free, so why can’t they?
That’s is the problem in this country. When a monopoly exists, then that gives them ultimate power as a puppet master, and they can just pull our strings and move us at their will. I mean, look at Streamyx right now. No one can compete them in terms of ADSL provider, so they can suck as much as they want, and no one could do anything about it. I know we have our HSDPA like Celcom and Maxis, but being the hardcore downloader that I am, I can’t simply live on the mobile providers, especially at the quality that they give us at the moment.
I have thought of switching from Maxis over the last year. However, as much as I like change, there’s just some things that I just can’t do. I can change my phone as I pleases (of course, at the mercy of my budget constraint), but I just can’t simple change my number. Maybe it’s the professionalism in me, but changing my numbers is just not in me. When I give out a number, I prefer it that it stays. I don’t need to give it out a couple of time per year, plus I dont’t have to do a lot of business cards. hehehehe. Maybe the norm in me has bind around me so tight, that I just can’t simply break free.
And for that reason, when MNP was released, I couldn’t help myself but cheer on. And for that, for what I have experienced being a Maxis customer for 6 1/2 years, I can say that I can finally be free. And for Maxis, so long and good luck for losing a customer.
Now comes the million dollar question………..where shall I jump to?
